Sleeplandia: Where Making the Bed Stops Being a Chore
A smarter duvet-cover system designed to make fitting easier and help keep your duvet neatly in place.
Why We Created Sleeplandia
Making the bed should be simple. Yet fitting a duvet cover can be surprisingly physical, time-consuming and frustrating, particularly with larger duvets.
Getting the duvet inside the cover is only part of the problem. Once the bed is made, the duvet can shift, slide or bunch up, creating uncomfortable empty spaces and leaving the bed looking untidy. Straightening it often means opening the cover and adjusting everything again.
These are familiar frustrations experienced in homes and hospitality settings alike. They can be especially demanding for older adults, people with limited mobility and anyone recovering from illness or surgery, but they create unnecessary effort for almost everyone.
We believed that better construction could solve both problems. Instead of changing only the appearance or material of a traditional duvet cover, we set out to reconsider how the cover opens, how the duvet is positioned and how it stays secured throughout the night.
From an Idea to the Sleeplandia System
We began by defining two clear objectives: make the duvet easier to place inside the cover and help prevent it from shifting during use.
To develop the solution, we worked with bed-linen manufacturers and textile specialists from several countries. Technical drawings, prototypes and production discussions helped us understand what would be practical to manufacture, comfortable to use and reliable over time.
Through several stages of development and testing, we refined the concept into the Sleeplandia fastening system. A three-sided zipper allows the cover to open widely, making the duvet easier to position. Secure, carefully placed fastening points connect the duvet to the cover and help reduce sliding and bunching during the night.
Each version was tested through everyday use and full nights of sleep. Feedback from other users helped us improve the design further and confirmed that a more thoughtfully constructed duvet cover could make an ordinary routine noticeably easier.
The result is a bedding system designed around practical comfort, reliable construction and a beautifully finished bed.
Our Duvet Manufacturing Partner
For our down and feather duvets, we partnered with Hungária Down Co. Ltd., a specialist bedding manufacturer based in Mezőkovácsháza, Hungary.
The company has manufactured down-filled bedding since 1975 in a region with a long tradition of waterfowl husbandry, feather processing and duvet production. This combination of specialist knowledge and local manufacturing experience has shaped its work for more than five decades.
Hungária Down’s long relationship with the demanding Japanese market has also influenced its approach to quality control. The manufacturer operates two production divisions at its facility: automated production for consistency and scale, alongside specialist handcraft manufacturing for products requiring greater precision and individual attention.
Its pillows and duvets are supplied to home-interior retailers and high-end hotels across Japan, other Asian markets, Europe, the Middle East and North America.
Working with an experienced manufacturing partner allows us to combine the practical Sleeplandia system with carefully selected natural fillings and established production expertise.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to make your home and your sleep easier.
Every Sleeplandia design begins with comfort, but comfort means more to us than how a duvet feels. It also means how easily a product fits into your routine, how simple it is to care for and how reliably it performs night after night.
We believe everyday products should reduce unnecessary physical effort rather than add to it. A well-designed bedroom should support rest, independence and everyday wellbeing.
Responsibility is equally important to us. We select partners and materials based on specific considerations such as traceability, textile safety, animal-welfare standards, hygiene and long-term product quality. We prefer clear, independently verified standards over broad sustainability promises.
Quality and Certifications
Our duvet manufacturing partner works with several recognised certifications and independent standards. The exact certifications applicable to each Sleeplandia product are displayed with its product information.
DOWNPASS®
For products carrying the DOWNPASS label, the down and feathers come from controlled and traceable supply chains that are independently audited against animal-welfare and quality requirements.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
Certified textiles and their components are tested against limits for more than 1,000 potentially harmful substances. The standard helps verify that the certified article is harmless to human health under its testing requirements.
NOMITE®
The NOMITE label indicates that the tightly woven casing fabric forms a natural barrier against house-dust mites. Bedding carrying the label is suitable for adults and children with house-dust allergies.
Downafresh®
Downafresh confirms that the down and feather filling meets the hygiene and purity requirements of European Standard EN 12935. The filling is processed under controlled conditions that include thorough washing, high-temperature drying and laboratory examination.
Together, these standards address four important aspects of down and feather bedding: responsible sourcing, textile safety, suitability for house-dust allergy sufferers and filling hygiene.
